Firstly — thank you for visiting my website.
I’m Joe, a relaxed documentary wedding photographer based near the North Wales / Shropshire border, covering weddings across the North West, North Wales and beyond.
Over the last 15 years, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph nearly 700 weddings — from countryside celebrations and elegant manor houses to city venues, tipi weddings and everything in between. What I still love most is that every wedding feels completely personal to the couple at the centre of it.
My approach is calm, natural and unobtrusive. I love capturing real moments as they happen — the emotion, atmosphere, laughter and all the little in-between moments that often end up meaning the most.
Whilst I absolutely love creating beautiful portraits, I never want your wedding day to feel like a photoshoot. I’ll always guide you when needed, but without taking over the day or keeping you away from your guests for hours at a time. Your wedding isn’t my show.
One of the nicest compliments I ever received came from a guest who said:
“You actually seem to love your job.”
And honestly? I really do.
Even after hundreds of weddings, I still drive home feeling incredibly grateful to do this for a living.
Over the years, I’ve also been honoured to receive several industry awards, including Welsh Wedding Photographer of the Year twice. Whilst that recognition means a huge amount personally, what matters most to me is creating photographs that genuinely mean something to the people in them.
The Experience
I care just as much about the experience you have with me as the photographs themselves.
From the moment you enquire through to delivering your final gallery, I want the whole process to feel relaxed, friendly and reassuring. I’ll happily help with timelines, offer guidance when needed, scout new venues beforehand and bring plenty of calm energy to the day itself.
After photographing so many weddings, I know when to quietly step back, when to offer direction and when to help keep things running smoothly without adding any pressure.
Away From Weddings
Away from photography, life nowadays mostly revolves around my wife Helena, our son Teddy, our fox terrier Poppy and a fairly chaotic collection of cats and hens at home in the countryside!
I’m also slightly obsessed with good coffee, great food, Everton FC, pool/snooker and occasionally tinkering around on the piano when I get chance.
