Top wedding professionals gathered on Wednesday, February 19, at The Exchange Hotel in Cardiff to find out the champions of The 3rd Welsh Wedding Awards 2020, in an elegant ceremony, put on to acknowledge the best that the industry has to offer.
The awards recognised everyone that works hard towards creating memorable and unique weddings; from wedding planners, coordinators, specialists and caterers to photographers, videographers, florists and stationary suppliers.
Despite fierce competition from around the country - on the night, two Wrexham based businesses took home national winners prizes – with both Photography by Joe Bickerton and Tim Cowell Videography winning the title of being the best in their respective categories by the judges.
Having won the title of best wedding photographer in Wales, Joe said;
“Winning the award has capped off a terrific few years, both from a professional and personal point of view, in which I’ve been fortunate enough to have captured many fantastic wedding celebrations across the region. Being in business alone can be challenging, but the support from other professionals and the incredible venues that I’ve worked at has been so encouraging."
"On the evening, I dedicated the award to my Dad who along with the rest of my family has been a huge champion of my work. He himself was an incredible artist and someone whose patience, dedication and eye for detail I've really been inspired by. Although he's not had the best of years health wise, he's always eager to see what I've shot and is one of my greatest advocates."
"The year ahead is looking really good and my busiest yet, with weddings at new venues on the horizon, as well as firm favourites such as visits to Tower Hill Barns, Tyn Dwr Hall, Thornton Hall, Delamere Manor and Inglewood Manor to name just a few. I've got a magazine feature coming up and I’m also looking forward to turning 40 this March and my first visit to New York (with my camera of course!)."
